Privacy Notice
Last updated: July 2026
This notice explains how ServerCake collects and uses your personal data when you join our waitlist or contact us. We follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP).
What we collect
We only collect what we need to reach you and reply to you. That means your email address, your WhatsApp number if you choose to join over WhatsApp, the fact that you gave consent and when, and a one-way hash of your IP address that we use to prevent spam and duplicate sign-ups. We never store your raw IP address. If you send us an enquiry, we also keep the details you share, such as your name, organisation and message.
Why we use it
We use your data to send you the launch updates and offers you asked for, to keep the sign-up form free of abuse, and to answer your enquiries. We do not use your data for anything else without asking you first.
Our legal basis
We rely on your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form. You can withdraw that consent at any time, and doing so stops any further messages from us.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the vendors who help us run the waitlist, such as our WhatsApp and email providers, and only for the purposes described above. These vendors handle your data under contract and act on our instructions.
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored in India. Keeping data resident in India is a core part of what ServerCake is building.
How long we keep it
We keep your data until you withdraw consent or ask us to delete it, and for a reasonable period after launch to complete what you signed up for. After that we delete or anonymise it.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or withdraw your consent. You can also opt out of updates at any time by replying STOP on WhatsApp or using the unsubscribe link in our emails. To make any of these requests, email us at [email protected].
Cookies and analytics
We use privacy-friendly analytics only. We do not use Google Analytics or cross-site advertising trackers.
Grievance Officer
If you have a concern about how we handle your data, you can reach our Grievance Officer at [email protected]. We aim to respond within the timelines set out in the DPDP Act.
